As part of the Pangaea Project, Canterio International takes orphans from the
villages to visit the US Embassy. We use the opportunity to visit a library and see
modern technology. They also learn about American democracy.  This experience
alone may change the mind set, and therefore the life, of an orphan.
Orphans were introduced to the
computer and the Internet by
Embassy staff
The focus of this interaction
was on women and girls who
are treated as second class
citizens in Malawi. They were
encouraged to stay in school
so they can become doctors,
lawyers, teachers or any
profession they choose.
